This Neurodiversity Celebration Week (March 17–23), we recognise the diversity of minds that shape our Saints College community.

Neurodiversity is reflected in the many ways people think, learn, process information, and experience the world. Some neurodivergent young people communicate best through writing instead of speaking, use movement to focus, or find creative solutions others might not have considered. Others may experience sensory sensitivities, need quiet spaces to recharge, or prefer routines to feel secure.

Radical inclusion is a core tenet of Saints College. Every young person deserves to be welcomed, affirmed, and supported to learn in a way that works for them. This week, we acknowledge the strengths, perspectives, and contributions of neurodivergent young people and staff across our learning communities.

Week 1 at Fitzroy North College! 🎉

This week, we officially opened the doors of Fitzroy North College and welcomed our very first group of young people. Our Year 7s arrived on Wednesday, followed by our Year 8s and 9s on Thursday, and today, we celebrated our first full house!

Fitzroy North College was created for young people who haven’t always felt at home in school. Maybe big campuses felt overwhelming, maybe the way learning was structured didn’t quite work, or maybe school just hasn’t felt like a safe or supportive place in the past. Whatever their journey has been, this week marked a fresh start.

We’ve built this school to be different—a place where young people feel safe, understood, and free to learn in a way that works for them. With small class sizes and a focus on relationships, every young person is seen, heard, and supported. Learning here is flexible, inclusive, and built around the individual—not the other way around.

To the young people who joined us this week—welcome! We’re so excited to have you here.

Over the past two weeks, we’ve welcomed young people—both familiar faces and new—across our eight campuses.

We recognise that every young person arrives with their own story, their own journey, and their own feelings about school. Whether stepping back into learning feels exciting, uncertain, or something in between, we hold space for every experience.

No matter the campus, every young person is part of a community that listens, understands, and stands alongside them as they take their next steps in learning and life.
